2025 Word of the Year

I am sure you have heard the phrase, “Words are powerful.” I believe that statement more and more each day that I live. I have heard powerful, life changing words in my lifetime, and I am sure you have as well. Regardless of your age or gender, words bring about all kinds of emotions and reactions. As kids would say, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me,” this is absolutely incorrect!

In 2019, I began to initiate a practice of selecting one word for the FBC Bullard congregation to meditate on throughout the entire calendar year. My hope is that this chosen word would draw us closer in our personal walk with our Lord and Savior.

For 2025, I have chosen the word “Pray”. Matthew 14:23 says, “And after He had sent the multitudes away, He went up to the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.” I believe if Jesus needed time for communion with God, we sure need time to talk with God. My prayer is that in 2025, the body of Christ at FBC Bullard will grow closer to our Savior in our personal and corporate prayer life.

Join with me this year, draw closer to God in your private prayer time. Find that spot with no interruptions and talk to your Heavenly Father like you have never done before. May we pray about everything that comes before us this year.
